Likørstræde (Liqueur Street)

Marker 12.

This little pedestrian alley, which leaves Lyngby Hovedgade (High Street) under a characteristic lintel with a pantile roof and advertisements, was formerly known as Ulrikkenborgstræde or Carlsbergstræde. It connected Bagergården (Bakers’ farm) on the other side of The High Street with its fields west of the town, where Ulrikkenborg Plads and parts of Jernbanepladsen (Railway Square), among others, are now found. Likørstræde now runs under the annex to Lyngby Post Office to Jernbanepladsen and Lyngby Station, where there once was an complete little neighbourhood. The alley is now one of Lyngby’s busiest streets.
